Striker Tips - Tech Tip Tuesday

Welcome to the first edition of Tech Tip Tuesday! In this edition, we answer a few frequently asked questions regarding our Striker Tips.

- What are Striker Tips?

Striker tips are polymer buffers that your firing pin or striker hits to make the CoolFire Trainer function. They also protect your firearm and our Barrel from damage.

- Why do we use them?

We use them as a buffer to protect the Barrel and your firing pin from damage. They are designed to wear down and must be inspected and replaced often.

- How often do I change them?

On average, we get between 300 and 500 shots, but the shot count may vary from handgun to handgun.

- Does my CoolFire Trainer come with Striker Tips?

Yes. All CoolFire Trainer Barrels ship with one installed on the barrel and two replacements. These are located in a small bag with the Tap Rack Training Aids.

- What happens if I do not keep up with the Striker Tips?

Repeated use with a damaged Striker Tip or without a Striker Tip can cause damage to the CoolFire Trainer or, in rare, severe cases, damage to the weapon’s firing pin. Our technicians must then repair this.

- Where can I get replacements?

Striker Tips are conveniently available on our website under the Consumables tab, ensuring you can always have a backup on hand.

- How do I change them?

- Are there different sizes?

Yes, we have two sizes: Small and Large. Certain Barrels use different sizes and you can view our size chart on our website under each Barrel page. The color may vary depending on when they were produced.
